The Process
Let’s take the first step together
Reaching out for help can feel scary (I get it, I’ve been there), so I offer a free 15 minute introductory phone call to answer any questions you might have.
If you decide that I might be a good fit for you, we will arrange and agree on a suitable day and time for weekly sessions.
Therapy sessions take place in my home, in a safe confidential space, on a quiet street on the outskirts of the village of Ahoghill.
Hours:
Monday - Thursday: 9am- 5pm
Tuesday & Thursday: Evening sessions 6pm-9pm
Assessment and counselling sessions are £55 (some sessions are available for those who experience financial hardship at a reduced fee), with payment made before or on the day of the session.
Our first session will look a little bit different to those that follow as it will start with a short assessment to help me understand a bit more about you and your current situation including why you have decided to reach out for therapy at this time. During this first session, we will also discuss the therapeutic contract including areas such as confidentiality.
Counselling sessions will take place weekly and will last around 50 minutes. We normally will work together for six weeks and review at week six, where some people choose to continue weekly sessions or may drop down to bi-weekly or once a month, depending on what is working best for you.
I have an open ended approach to therapy, meaning you are not limited to a set amount of sessions. For example I have worked with some clients for 10 sessions over 3 months or 90 sessions over 3 years. We will always ‘check in’ and continue to agree to work in a way that suits you best.
